Dennemeyer & Associates South Africa gets ISO certification

Dennemeyer & Associates in South Africa recently became one of the very few law firms on the African continent to achieve the internationally recognized standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). What does having an ISO 9001:2015 certification mean to its clients? It acknowledges the law firm's sophisticated and streamlined processes, commitment to the continuous improvement of services, dedication to high quality results and consistent performance.

Operating internationally, Dennemeyer & Associates has an in-house Quality Management Department, which ensures that all offices worldwide have documented processes for every aspect of their operations. As part of this rigorous certification process, most of Dennemeyer's local entities and affiliated law firms have obtained an ISO 9001 certification.

"We wanted to increase the transparency of our processes and make sure that clients are served most efficiently," explains Christophe van Zyl, head of Dennemeyer’s Africa Practice Group and partner Dennemeyer & Associates South Africa. "This quality management standard helps  consistently to meet our clients' expectations by following well-documented processes in our operations and the management of the local South African firm."

Launched in 2017, the Johannesburg based firm offers access to global filing, prosecution and maintenance services. Dennemeyer & Associates South Africa is unique in that one partner, Robyn Merry, is based in Johannesburg, whereas the other partner, Christophe van Zyl, is located in the Luxembourg headquarters of the Dennemeyer Group. Members of the Africa Practice Group can meet clients face to face in both South Africa and Europe in any matter concerning IP in Africa, providing an active synchronization of client’s IP law issues from Europe to Africa.

ISO certificationWhat is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is an international standard that sets out the requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The International Standards Organization (ISO) introduced changes in 2015 to ensure that ISO 9001 continues to adapt to the changing environments by applying the latest quality management principles.

Commitment to clients

Dennemeyer & Associates aims for the highest internal and external customer satisfaction by achieving on-time delivery of error-free products and services. The certification reflects a commitment to customer needs and exemplifies the high quality of services and products. Dennemeyer & Associates' daily approach in business is based on the ISO 9001:2015 standard for continuous improvement in both internal processes and service offerings.

Dr. Uwe Tenner, Global Head of Quality Management at the Dennemeyer Group, states that "the audit process entailed an exhaustive analysis of the firm’s operations and internal processes with a focus on client satisfaction. At Dennemeyer, we strive to meet and exceed customer expectations in terms of quality, delivery time and pricing, providing the best total value in compliance with all regulatory requirements."
