Many IP-experts in the pharmaceutical industry know Dr. Brückner as the author of the German-English commentary on Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs). His combined qualifications as patent attorney and pharmacist, in combination with his corporate in-house experience, make him a sought-after contact for legal and entrepreneurial issues.

His articles are published in law journals, and he is frequently invited to speak on this topic. He is also a co-author of the Singer / Stauder commentary on the European Patent Convention.

Before joining Dennemeyer, Dr. Christopher Brückner was employed in the patent department of an internationally-known German company and after that in two patent law firms.

In 2012, the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf selected Dr. Brückner as a court-appointed expert. In 2016, the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition requested that Dr. Brückner participates in the preparation of a study commissioned by the EU. The purpose of the study was to assess whether the current EU Regulation 469/2009 for SPCs meets today’s technical and legal requirements.
