How do we know our trademarks have been renewed?

We will provide you with a report after we have received the filing receipt from our local agent. Furthermore, we will send a second report as soon as a copy of the renewal certificate is available. Our Portfolio Management app will always display the up-to-date status of your IP assets.

Does Dennemeyer file for all maintenance actions, such as an affidavit in the United States of America?

Yes, indeed, we handle all maintenance actions: the affidavit / declaration of use and the annuity payments, as needed. For all steps, you will receive maintenance notices to instruct us to make the respective payments. When a specimen is needed, we will inform you upfront. Our local agents and colleagues from the Dennemeyer offices worldwide will advise whether the specimen is likely to be accepted – however, this cannot be guaranteed.

How can we provide a power of attorney in the event it is needed for the renewals process?

Our maintenance notice will contain prefilled templates if needed. You will be informed whether a signed copy, the original version or even a legalized document will be required. You can send digital documents to us via email or upload them directly to the IP Lounge. Original documents will need to be sent to the office in Luxembourg.

Can we group the portfolio (patents and trademarks)?

Yes, we can group by family / cost center, based on your needs and internal organization.

When do we receive notice that instructions are outstanding?

We offer different options according to your situation and requirements. For patents, depending on whether you choose a standing order or not, we typically send our renewal notices four to five months ahead of time. However, we are very flexible in this regard. For trademarks, we usually offer our standard arrangement of sending the maintenance notice five months in advance, giving you ample time to provide instructions and any required documentation.

When do we receive invoices, and what is the payment term?

Again, we facilitate various preferences to suit your organization. For patents, depending on whether you choose a standing order or not, we propose to send our invoices two to three months ahead of time. With either payment plan, this gives you a two-month period after receipt of the renewal notice to make your decision. Once again, we remain flexible on this schedule. Our standard payment term is NET 30 days, but alternative terms can be agreed upon in line with the overall program. For trademarks, we generally offer our standard arrangement of sending the invoice three months in advance. This is because we instruct our local agents two months ahead of time.
